Hi,
Some of my clients use scripting setting "http://xxx.xxx/xxx.pac" in their company and report that they were unable to reach internet with my program(made by rtcHttpClient). I enabled "useProxy" and did not enable WinHTTP, what else should I do?

There is one further question, if I enable "use a proxy server in your lan...", Should I get "\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet\ProxyServer" address String to fill in HttpClient.UserLogin.ProxyAddr field?

thank you very much.

Hi Sean,

I'm not sure what you mean by scripting setting (.pac?), but if your customers are using a Proxy and setting "useProxy" to TRUE does not allow your client to access the internet, you will have to set Proxy parameters through the "UserLogin" property of the TRtcHttpClient component (ProxyAddr, ProxyUserName and ProxyPassword).

You can try looking into the registry to see if there are proxy parameters, but if they are using some script to connect through a Proxy, it is very likely that you will NOT find proxy settings in the registry. The only thing I can suggest you in that case is to ask your customers network admin how to obtain proxy parameters, or make the client configurable so that each user can enter proxy address, username and password manually - which you can use to fill the "UserLogin" parameters and store locally (inside an "INI"?) so that proxy info doesn't have to be entered manually every time.

PS. While you are at it, in case your client uses more than 2 TRtcHttpClient components, you can also set "useWinHTTP" to TRUE to lift the physical connection limit of the WinInet API.
